Counselor’s who are currently Certified (CADC or Licensed (LADC) by the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (OBLADC) are eligible to be IC&RC certified. Over 50% of all substance abuse professionals in the U.S. hold IC&RC certificates. Incorporated in 1981, IC&RC represents 75 Member Boards, including 44 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, two U.S. territories, and three branches of the U.S. military. Members also include 22 countries and six Native American territories.

Oral Exam Application
Thank You for applying for the Oral Exam

Before applying you must have submitted your case presentation to the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors.
Once ODAPCA receives your payment and registration you will be placed on the list for the next available oral exam. All exams are held on Friday's and the first exam will start at 9:00 am. ODAPCA will notify you approximately two weeks prior to your exam, with a date and time. You must acknowledge that you either accept the date or deny the date offered by ODAPCA. (If you accept and then re-schedule, there will be a re-scheduling fee)

Please Read All of The Instructions

All testing candidates must have a "Ready to Test" letter from the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselors (OBLADC) Once you have your letter you may fill out the application form. If you are not sure contact OBLADC at 405.521.0779

Directions:
1) Fill out application and proceed to checkout (one time)

2) Make payment to ODAPCA

2 a) If paying by credit card, enter your credit card information through the cart.

2 b) If paying by check/Money Order, select "Pay Later" as your payment option, and make payable to ODAPCA and mail to 9301 S I-35 Service Rd. Moore, OK 73160

2 c) If paying by Purchase Order, select "Pay Later" as your payment option, and contact Roxanne at 405.793.1545

3) Once ODAPCA receives your payment they will register you with the testing company (ISO Quality Testing)

4) Once you are registered you will receive an email (to the email address on your account). Check your Junk and Spam folders.

5) Open email-click on link-pick a location-open calendar of location-choose a date

6) Once you have chosen a location and date, you will receive another email from (ISO Quality Testing) Make sure you print your Admission letter, this is the letter that you MUST bring to the testing facility on the date of your test.  If fail to bring the your admission letter with you to the testing site, you will not be able to test.

7) Once you finish the exam you will receive you UNOFFICIAL test results immediately following the exam

8) If you pass the exam (and have not taken the Oral Exam), you will receive a letter from OBLADC with instructions for your Oral Exam

9) If fail the exam you may retest after 91 days (you will need to fill out the application form and start the process over).

Choose 3 Professional References-(Present employing agency, prevention practicum training supervisor, agency, supervisor, peer prevention professional, or chairperson of your agency board of directors)- One (1) must be a CPS, Document Professional References on “professional references” tracking sheet. Have your professional reference mail form back to ODAPCA (Applicant should not mail form)

Employee Verification

Completely fill out three (3) employee verification forms. Have employee sign and date form, applicant shall mail form to ODAPCA

Education/Verification

Send “Official Transcript” to ODAPCA (must be sealed and stamped official), fill out workshop tracking sheet with appropriate Continuing Education Units (CEU’s). Mail form to ODAPCA

Practicum/Training Supervision

Practicum/Training Supervision - Send Certified Prevention Specialist Practicum/training to Supervisor.
Applicant and Supervisor must sign and date form. Mail form to ODAPCA

Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP)

CCJP BASIC REQUIREMENTS

The ODAPCA minimum standards for the Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP) reciprocal credential are as follow:

·          Associate Degree/Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s in Behavioral Science/Counseling Degree

·         Official Transcript(s)

·         *The US Department of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation MUST accredit University, on- line, and Correspondence degrees*

Experience

·         6000 hours of supervised work experience specific to the domains (see below).

·         A minimum of associate’s degree in behavioral science or a non-reciprocal

·         CADC counselor credential may substitute for 1000 hours

·         A bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or an IC&RC reciprocal CADC counselor   credential may substitute for 2000 hours

·         A master’s degree in behavioral science or an IC&RC reciprocal CCS credential may substitute for 4000 hours

·         A master’s degree in behavioral science or an IC&RC reciprocal advanced CADC counselor credential or other advanced credential (NBCC, CRCC, NASW, MAC, etc.) may substitute for 5000 hours

·         Work experience must have been obtained within the 10 years prior to application

Education 

·         270 hours of education specific to the domains (see below)

·         Six hours of education must be in criminal justice ethics

·         270 hours specific to the domains with a high school diploma

·         200 hours with an associate’s degree or a non-reciprocal CADC counselor credential

·         150 hours with a bachelor’s degree or an IC&RC reciprocal CADC counselor credential

·         100 hours with a master’s degree or an IC&RC reciprocal CCS credential

·         60 hours are required with a master’s degree or above or an IC&RC advanced CADC counselor credential or another advanced credential NBCC,CRCC, NASW, MAC, etc. 

Supervised Practical Training 

·         200 hours specific to the domains with a high school   diploma

·         150 hours with an associate’s degree or a non-reciprocal CADC counselor credential

·         100 hours with a bachelor’s degree or an IC&RC reciprocal CADC counselor credential

·         80 hours with a master’s degree or an IC&RC reciprocal CCS credential

·         No hours are required with a master’s degree or above or an IC&RC advanced CADC counselor credential or another advanced credential (NBCC, CRCC, NASW, MAC, etc.

·         A minimum of ten hours in each domain is required

Residency 

·      Applicants must live or work in the state of Oklahoma 51% of the time

·         Must be notarized, signed, and attach a current picture/ Copy of current Driver’s License is okay if legible  

Fees 

·         Application Fee - $140

·         Re-Certification Fee- $100.00

Hours 

·      20 hours of continuing education earned every year

·      10 hours Must be in Drug and Alcohol Specific

·       CEU’s 3 hours of Ethics 

Ethics 

·      Applicants must sign a criminal justice specific code of ethics statement or affirmation statement.  (6 Hours Criminal Justice Specific Ethics)

References 

·         3 Personal References (A professional who can attest to supervisory competence)

o    An individual who has been supervised

o    The director or immediate supervisor of the candidate

Continuing Education Requirements 

·         180 hours/90 hours must be Drug & Alcohol specific  

Examination
